The Alameda County Registrar of Voters released their latest tally [click on City/Alameda/City Council on the left side] of the ballots cast in the election this evening, a full week after the election. Because of the large number of absentee ballots turned in at the polls, it took a longer than usual time to finalize the results. As well, this most recent count has shown a shift in the numbers, with Lena Tam moving up to second place behind Rob Bonta, and Beverly Johnson finishing third, and being appointed to finish out Marie Gilmore’s term. Your Voice Matters
Happy Election Day! I hope you will get out and vote if you haven’t already! During this election season, and even before, one thing I have noticed about the news coverage around the City is that it lacks depth and substance. We either get polarizing coverage from one extreme, sanitized coverage that appears neutral but contains surface bias, or print coverage that only appears once a week, and can’t keep up with the rapid flow of what happens around Alameda. Get Out and Vote!
I want to take a moment on the eve of the election to thank everyone who has gotten involved in any way during this campaign. Thank you to the Citizens of Alameda and my fellow candidates for the chance to participate in the debate of issues surrounding this election. He has now raised over $60k for his campaign, with the majority of it coming from donors outside of Alameda. There is also another source of spending that the Citizens have seen and taken notice of recently during the campaign: interference from outside Alameda concerns, by

Alameda’s Future
Yesterday was by far the most enjoyable day of this entire campaign. I spent the majority of my day with students in the West End, first volunteering at lunch at Ruby Bridges Elementary School, and then participating in the Candidate forum hosted by Alternatives in Action in the evening. Each experience I participated in yesterday was unique, volunteer-driven, and showed me so much of what makes Alameda the amazing community I want to spend the rest of my life in and working to support. I went through most of my schooling thinking that my professional career would be as a
